Transportation and Emergencies
- Fuel may be unavailable, and gas stations may experience electrical or electronic problems.
Storing gasoline is extremely hazardous and is not recommended. The Uniform Fire Code limits garage storage to five gallons in an approved container.
If gas is available, you may be required to pay cash.
Consider alternate transportation, such as a bicycle or walking. If you own a bicycle, make sure you have spare tire tubes, a tire pump, patch kit, brake pads and chain.
If you encounter a traffic signal that is non-operative because of a power outage, you must treat the intersection as a four-way stop.
