Transportation and Emergencies
  • Fuel may be unavailable, and gas stations may experience electrical or electronic problems.
  • Storing gasoline is extremely hazardous and is not recommended. The Uniform Fire Code limits garage storage to five gallons in an approved container.
  • If gas is available, you may be required to pay cash.
  • Consider alternate transportation, such as a bicycle or walking. If you own a bicycle, make sure you have spare tire tubes, a tire pump, patch kit, brake pads and chain.
  • If you encounter a traffic signal that is non-operative because of a power outage, you must treat the intersection as a four-way stop.
