Staff is currently installing, on a case by case basis, two options of capturing ground water on Kevin Street. In areas where surface run off is cascading over sidewalks, staff is installing a residential surface drainage system. This precast trench drain system, when installed in the concrete sidewalk, will capture surface nuisance water through a drain grate and provide relief via PVC pipe to curb face where water will exit into gutter. The second option will utilize a high density polyethylene with filter fabric that has much more surface area for the collection of water via a multi-flow drainage system. This will replace the typical rock bed leach system currently in place. In addition, staff is working with an outside concrete contractor to repair various street locations where existing damaged curb/gutter is impeding water flow before this year's asphalt overlay.
